Retirement in 2014 ended Judith Hankes' career as a primary level teacher and an education professor. After retirement, she and her husband, John Lago, moved to the Wisconsin north woods where they built a log cabin on a private lake. In this woodland retreat, the yapping of coyotes, cawing of crows, honking of geese, and the sweet songs of vireos are as satisfying to Judith and John as a choral or symphony performance.
